
He used Alexander rather than Leander in life in the Army and RIC. He may have reverted to Leaner (see obit at the end)
1891 Sep 9/ Jan 24 Born Tullyboy Co Cavan. As Leander William McCabe( RIC have 1894). The birth registration is odd, in that it only seems to have been registered in Jul 1892, and if it had been born 24 Jan 1891, then he should have been 10 in 11901 census, not 9. I think Sep 9, the date date in RIC is correct.

1901 census at Tullyboy. None of the McCabe births seem in GRO. I think he is the Leander WA McCabe here

1915 May 5. Discharged from Irish Guards, no longer fit for war service

1921 Jan 19. Posted to F Coy

1921 Feb 13. Called as a witness at inquest into murders of Kennedy and Murphy
1922 Sep 6. Disbanded at Gormanston
1924 Jan 19 Pension Card shows him living in Belfast

1982 May 29 This could be an obit for his wife. She was living at 31 Cherryvalley, Belfast . It looks as if the family had a falling out with separate funeral notices from his son Len & daughter Jean
