1902 Aug 31. Married in London to Elizabeth Matilda Webb

1911 census at 53 Cressingham Road, Lewisham

1914 Nov 28 Enlisted in Rifle Brigade. He had been in Navy before for 4 years and purchased his discharge

1917 Mar 12 transfers to RGA

1919 Mar 6. To Z Reserve

1919 Mar 7 re-enlisted in RGA

 

1920 Jul 9 Arrives in Canada. Intending to settle under the Government Scheme

 

1920 Oct 22. Joined with RIC no 74749. ex-Soldier & Motor Driver

 

1932 Aug 31 returns from Australia. His army record shows that he had his discharge papers stolen there.

1933 May 11. He is in court and the case dismissed, for stealing an overcoat while looking for work in Devon. He was sleeping rough

1939 Register A "lunatic" inmate at Long Grove Hospital, Horton Lane, Epsom

1949 Nov 12 Died Epsom

1955 His wife died in Camberwell
