1911 census He is not at 436 Beverley Rd, Hull, (the address on his MIC) but Pearsons are. They are probably his grandparents rather than his parents. The family seem mainly to have been railway clerks. . His parents were in St Pancras with his two sisters, where his father was working for L&NW Railway

1919 Mar 12. Bar to MC Gazetted. 2nd Lt. (A./Capt.) John Pearson, M.C., R. Fus., attd. 2nd Bn. (M.C. gazetted 2nd December, 1918.) On the 20th October, 1918, in the vicinity of Kappart, he, by the skilful handling of his. platoons under heavy fire, gained his objective. Finding that the company on his left had managed to secure the high ground, and that the Company on his right had been held up, he immediately formed a defensive flank and filled the gap, under very heavy machine-gun fire. Throughout his courage was conspicuous.
