Leir, late 2nd East Kent regiment; All the above appointments are merely provisional and subject to confirmation later. It is understood in military circles that recruiting for the infantry battalion will commence on Monday.

1916 Apr 24. His wife Amy tries to cross into USA and seems to have been "debarred". Her husband is "British Army Officer in Cheltenham". The 1916 census of Manitoba gives her as a lodger at 2503, South, South Railway St, Regina, with no other family
