Ralph Watts Hyde

1893 Jan 12 . Born Stroud, Gloucs. His father was Benjamin W Hyde (a domestic footman). He appears to have abandoned the family and was killed on the Somme in July 1916 as an Australian soldier. His wife in Amberley is down as next of kin, and gets a Widow's pension as a result of his death. As Benjamin was living in Western Aus. when he enlisted, I suspect that the son had gone to Aus in 1913 to visit his father.
