1905 British cavalry saber from 1890, which had the following inscription on its scabbard: "Presented to Lance Corporal R. G. Gildersleeve, Royal East Kent Mounted Rifles by his Troop Leader, 1905"

1905 Aug 3 enlists in 1st Life Guards. He stated that he was serving in Royal East Kent Mounted Rifles & had befoe that served in 1st City of London RGA. Next of kin was his mother Rose

1927 & 1928 Ancesry trees suggest that he has 2 chldren by Elizabeth Jane Squire. This may refer to I am trying to find any post 1900 children he may have fathered. My Grandmother is his daughter, but she was not born to Florence. I would be greatly interested and thankful if anyone can shed any more light. Forum post
