He seems to have started life as Samuel Priestly Mann, changed to Priestley Don, then Samuel Priestly Donne from 1914 onwards. The spelling of Priestly/Priestley/Priestlay varies
I don't get why he changed his surname to Donne. I wonder if he had a falling out with the family. I have personal letters that were sent my grandfather when he was in the Boer War & in one he mentions Robert Mann is going to get married again. "He seems to be in a great hurry as his first wife can't have been dead long." Letter dated Dec. 19th, 1900. Wonder if he didn't like his new stepmother! I have no idea what he did after 1922 unless I find some descendants
