1901 census, the family are at Spittal Rd, Maldon, Essex. I assume his parents have divorced and that his mother has remarried

1903 Jun 9 Enlists in HLI. His parents and brother Cecil are living in Spittal Rd, Maldon, Essex

1915 Oct 9. DCM Gazetted

1915 Nov 19 Commissioned 2nd Lt. Staff Serjeant Percy George Wells, from Unattached List, Indian Army (late The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders), to be Second Lieutenant.

1916 Aug 28. .—2nd Lieut. P. G. Wells (2nd King's Liverpool Regiment) joined the Ox & Bucks LI for duty.

1917 May 1 —Ox & Bucks reports. 2nd Lieut. P. G. Wells proceeded to Basra on transfer to the Royal Flying Corps in Egypt.
