1944 Nov 3. F/O H R COOKE, who has been relinquished his command of E (Minster) Flight of the Thanet Squadron of the Air Training Corps, took the salute at the squadron parade held at Minster on Sunday. The squadron, led by the drum and fife band, marched down the High Street to the parish church. F/O COOKE was supported at the saluting base by the commanding officer of the squadron (Flt Lt R W SPRATLING), the home secretary of the Squadron Committee (Alderman W HAWKINS) and members of the E (Minster) Flight Welfare Committee. The lessons at the service were read by F/O COOKE and F/O KAY, who was recently appointed to succeed Mr COOKE as E Flight Commander.
