I don't know which of these two is our man, and there is not enough evidence to separate the two - there is only a year in age and they both ere living in the same part of Liverpool. The ADRIC man was only a 2nd Lt, so it points to the man on the left, and that is my assumption. But I cannot get the census info without further assumptions. The RIC Register certainly gives Cumberland as place of birth
