On Tuesday evening, about 25 friends of Mr E B Probert dined at the White Horse and afterwards made him a presentation on the occasion of his retirement from the proprietorship of the hotel. After dinner, the chairman proposed the health of Mr Probert and said his friends desired to show him in a tangible way their friendship for him. He had been a very obliging and courteous landlord, and commanded the esteem of all his customers. As a sportsman he was always to the front, especially in connection with local sports such as cricket and athletic gatherings. Malvern Gazette, January 31, 1913.
