George Percival Tempest Dean, QSA

1875 Jun 28. Born at Olveston, Thornbury, Avon, Gloucestershire Son of Capt Dean and Isabel (surname unknown without birth cert), although the grave says "Isabel". His father was in 12 Lancers. There is some mystery here as I cannot find a marriage for his parents, though it could have been overseas).

1889 Apr to 1890 Jul. Educated at Priory House, Repton School the son of Capt. Dean, 12th Lancers,

1891 census Boarder at a Clifton School at 6 Worcester Terrace, Clifton, Bristol.

1897 Cape Mounted Rifles. Private no 3240

1899 to 1902 served in Boer War. Queen's Medal (4 clasps, Wepener, Wittebergen, Cape Colony, Transvaal), King's Medal (2 clasps).

1900 Jul 25. The undermentioned Candidates, recommended by the Field-Marshal Commanding-in-Chief. South Africa, to be Second Lieutenants, to complete establishment. Army Service Corps. Trooper George Percival Tempest Dean, from the Cape Mounted Riflemen.

1901 Nov 1. Army Service Corps. The undermentioned Second Lieutenants to be Lieutenants, to complete establishment. Dated 1st November, 1901 :—George Percival Tempest Dean.

1906 Mar 19. Retired under provisions of Article 21 and 522 of Royal Warrant

1906 Oct 22. Militia. 5th Battalion, The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment); George Percival Tempest Dean, gentleman (late Lieutenant, Army Service Corps), to be Lieutenant.

1909 Jun 12. 7th Battalion, The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), Lieutenant George P. T. Dean resigns his Commission.

1921 Jan 1. Died while a Temp Cadet ADRIC. His death certificate shows that it was natural causes - cardiac failure.

1921 Jan 21. Buried in Brompton Cemetery, London. Captain George Percival Tempest Dean of 6th Dragoon Guards. Son of Captain and Isabel Dean.

1923 Aug 23. Probate. I believe that Isabel Marguerite Bayley is his sister, who first married Charles E N Charrington in 1903, then Thomas Elliot Baylay in 1915
