Medicine, 1916-18; M.D., 1921 Enlisted, May 16th, 1918, in the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Quebec Regiment. Served in Canada.

1918 Jan 3. Enlisted (drafted) in CEF . In the 1st Depot Battalion, Manitoba Regiment. Promoted to the rank of Acting-Sergeant. Living in Winnipeg. He was a student. Next of Kin his mother Mrs Ellen Harriet Cumming. Regimental numbers. 2378719 & 336979

1919 Feb 15 Commission on discharge

1920 Sep 8. Joined ADRIC with service no 496. Posted K Coy

1920 Dec 11. In K Company when the burning of Cork and the grenade attack on K Coy tender took place at Dillons Cross. He was wounded (wounds to both feet) and sought compensation and received £500 for his wounds. He was admitted to Military Hospital Cork.

1921 Feb 26. Struck off strength of ADRIC as a deserter. This report gives the name "Edwards" but the data fits Cumming. There is no suitable Edwards in ADRIC. He appears to have been sentenced, and next appears in Mountjoy Prison

1921 Jul 8. In Mountjoy Gaol for offences under ROIR Act. Trial by Court Martial. He was a student, ex-Army and T/Cadet

1921 Jul 30 Transferred to Cork Prison

1921 Aug 4. Moved to detention barracks

1922 Mar 25 Returns to Canada on SS Montreal "Returning Soldier"

1922 Nov 9. Arrives Seattle USA from Vancouver.

1923 Jul. Arrives Seattle USA from Vancouver. He is a "farm labourer" and he seems to be heading for San Francisco

1926 Canada census, he is a servant in Manitoba

1927 Sep 6. Marries in Winnipeg to Edna Margaret Tannis Rowand
