1923 Married in Hartlepool to marriage to Norah Gleeson . He had 4 children by his first wife - James, Eileen (Babs), Stephen and Thomas (who died when he was about 16yrs). He re-married to Norah Gleeson after the death of his first wife .

1937 Sep 29 Died at West Hartlepool. The newspaper report is wrong in saying he was a native of Ireland, and his age wavers through the article. The censuses give him as born in Kent. But he did serve and marry in Fermoy
