1928. Oct/Dec. Bernard William Brawn was born in at Dover. His parents were Albert William Brawn and Doris Shilson. Albert was in the army but they moved to Sandy, Beds in about 1930. They had another child Brenda in 1930 and Doris died shortly after this.

1936 Jul/Sep Married in Biggleswade, Beds to Ruby F Mccandless. Albert married again to Ruby McCandless and they had a daughter Beryl. She grew up with Bernard until he was about 16 yrs old and he left home. Brenda was adopted by her maternal grandparents in Dover, the Shilsons.
