1901 census at 97& 99, High Street, Sandown

1911 census he is a boarder at Winchester School

1917 Aug 29. The undermentioned cadets to be temp. 2nd Lts. (attd.). Cheshire Regt William Donovan Board

1919 Mar 1. Ches. R. Temp. 2nd Lt. W. D. Board to be temp.Lt.

1920 Dec 3. Ches. R. The undermentioned temp. Lts. relinquish their commissions on completion of service, and retain the rank of Lt.: — W. D. Board.

1920 Oct 18 Joined ADRIC with service no 763. Posted to G Coy

1922 Jan 20. Discharged at demobilisation of ADRIC

1922 Joined the British Gendarmerie section of the Palestine Police as a Constable

1922 Married Margaret Duncan in Westham Essex.

1923 Jun 3. "William D K Board" of Hibernia, Sandown, Isle of Wight (As on MIC) arrives UK from Port Said . He is a policeman living in Palestine

1925 Sep 17 Leaves UK for Australia He is an "ex-officer". When he left for Australia his wife must have been pregnant with Joan.

1931-1937 On electoral roll in Metung, Gippsland, Victoria. He is a "share farmer" with no wife. He now uses "William O'Donavan Kevin Broad" in fact later entries in ADRIC Leave Book have him as WDK Board

1941 Apr 24. Enlisted as a Private in Australian Army with service no VX12903. He was in the Forestry Unit when discharged

1941 Jun 12. He came back to transfer to the British army in the war. Cheshire R. Spr. William Donovan BOARD (171100), from R. Aust. Engrs., to be 2nd Lt

1946 Apr 28. Royal Engineers. Movement Control Section. War Subs. Lt. W. D. BOARD (171100) from Cheshire R. to be War Subs. Lt., retaining his present seniority

At the end of the war he was with the Army in Germany and wife Peggy and daughter Joan were with him. When he left the Army they ran a small hotel/pub in Cerrig y druidion in Wales.

1950 Dec 28 His wife died suddenly of a brain haemorrhage in Wales and he returns to Australia with his mother. He had some sort of a breakdown and married again too soon and then spent a time in  Denbigh hospital. He is a "farmer" Travels alone. He is going back to live in Australia

1952 Apr 3. Died. It is believed by the family that he died in a bush fire in Australia and is buried in Bairnsdale. His Mother, Gertrude Kemp Board, died 31st July 1958 also buried in Bairnsdale. She would have been 85 so had continued to live there for about 6 years after his death. . No clue in obit as to his cause of death, but it does look like natural causes
