1899 Sep 15. Born Paddington, London Son of Harold V and Florence E Bacon. His parents divorces in 1904 (adultery and 2 years desertion by the father). His father is described as of "independent means " in the divorce, the father later married the co-respondent and divored her in 1915. He was still described in that case as "a gentleman"

1901 census at 25, Old Hobicus Lane, Oldbury (Worcs) - 1 year old "visitor"

1911 census is at a school in 34 Sussex Square, Brighton

1916 Jun 28 Commissioned Midshipman

1919 Mar 3. Temp Sub Lt in RNVR. His RNVR record gives his address as 59 Cadogan Sq, London. He seems to have moved from RNR to RNVR for one run to North Russia

1919 Apr 19 Demobilised

1920 Aug 20. Joined ADRIC with service no 415. Posted to C Coy . A form 3 at Depot transfer.

1921 Mar 9. Admitted Hardwick Fever Hospital

1921 Apr 29 Discharged hospital
