A RIC DI3 Michael Joseph Cahill was killed when an RIC group from Gormanston was shot at by an army checkpoint. DI3 JC Jeffrey was wounded and later got a pension
There is a very long enquiry report on FindMyPast
The Freeman does add that the ADRIC man was a "Captain Griffith", which could be MOI Griffiths who had been moved to Gormanstown as a DI in RIC Transport. Buut I cannot confirm that from the Inquiry. I assume that Capt Jeffrey is the correct one
