19 Jan 1921 - 2 T/Cadets wounded in bomb attack in Dublin

 

One Cadet was slightly wounded in a bomb attack on a van in Parliament St, Dublin at 7.15 according to the Castle announcement. The Independent report thought that 2 Cadets were wounded, one of whom was taken to King George V Hospital.

A later report gave the injured Cadets as HW Barrett of Nuneaton with 6 wounds to the lower part of his body, and Cadet SE Strasman of Clapton, London with 2 wounds to his legs. Neither man was seriously injured. However Barrett was out of action in hospital or medical leave until 30 Jun 1921 and was later awarded £1600 compensation
